How Do You Get A One-Piece Pool Indoors?

September 2014 found us delivering a one-piece pool to a farmhouse property in Buckinghamshire. Business as usual then – only this time the pool was to be installed inside an existing building. Most indoor pools we install are as ordered as part of a wider new build project, though this wasn’t our first delivery of a pool to an existing structure and we expect it won’t be our last…

This client was a keen swimmer in the market for a proper exercise pool, with year-round swimming at the very top of their priority list. A disused cow shed on the client’s land had been ear marked for a new pool-house and was beautifully renovated for its arrival, otherwise an outdoor pool with an enclosure would have been another great solution to the growing popularity of year-round swimming. A section of the shed’s brick side wall was removed in preparation for delivery, and the Aurora ceramic pool was then slid through the gap and onto a prepared base – with insulation to comply with Building Regulations.

Underfloor heating and triple-glazed bi-fold doors were included as part of the cow shed’s renovation, to help keep the heat in and condensation out. A mid-range counter current – compatible with all of our pools – was also fitted to enable ‘endless swimming’ against an adjustable jet stream.
